The Church of Nigeria (Anglican Communion) Bible Reading Guide, the Daily Fountain, has continued to be a source of blessing, living up to its name of spring of living waters from where people drink to quench their spiritual thirst.
Reading the word of God daily and taking care to apply it to our lives is very important as a critical ingredient for our fruitfulness in our earthly pilgrimage in our walk to eternity. God’s word is a lamp unto our feet and a light unto our path” (Psa. 119:105). This verse conjures a picture of a man walking along a dangerous road on a dark night, in urgent need of a lantern to show him where to walk safely and comfortably, so as to avoid injury and destruction. It indicates the primary and practical use of the Scriptures. The dark place is this world, and it is only as we take heed to the Word, which is the light which God has given us, that we shall be able to perceive and avoid “the broad road which leads to destruction,” and discern the narrow way which alone “leads unto Life.”
Some Christians, either for ignorance or lack of guidance, do not make adequate and proper use of the Bible according to God’s intention. The Daily Fountain has come to meet this very important need in the lives of the people of God.
We thank the Liturgy and Spirituality Committee of the Church of Nigeria, under the leadership of Archbishop Henry Ndukuba for the work well done. The Reading Guide shows the evidence of diligent study and inspiration of the Holy Spirit.
Therefore, we call on all Anglicans in Nigeria and indeed all Christians to avail themselves of this material for spiritual growth and direction. Make good use of it, and you will not miss the way.
The Lord be with you.
The Most Revd Nicholas D. Okoh Archbishop, Metropolitan and Primate Church of Nigeria (Anglican Communion)

The daily fountain as the devotional guide of the church of Nigeria, has continued to be source of daily refreshing spring to many people and families. the ACNN Broadcast puts this material at the disposal of millions of viewers across the world. We have the testimonies of God’s faithfulness. God’s desire is that we shall be rescued from our enemies, and that he will enable us to serve him without fear, be holy and walk in righteousness before him all the days of our life (Luke 1: 73-75). This eternal purpose is demonstrated in our saviour Jesus Christ and written in the word of God, the Bible. As we give time daily to the word of God, and prayer, he empowers and enables us to live, walk and serve him.
In the midst of needs, challenges and uncertain ties of life, may God Almighty speak to us each day and renew our strength to love and serve Him and His people.
We are grateful to all our consultants, editors and the writing teams for their labour of love for the church of God. We appreciate the prayers and contributions of our church members. We further encourage the users of this devotional to use the quarterly prayer points for every quarter. We solicit for financial support and your observations and comments.
Brethren be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might. Peace be with you.
